AdAway is an open source ad blocker for Android using the hosts file.

Requirements:
• ROOT
• Read/Write access on system-Partition

Problems:
• On some HTC devices with a ‘feature’ called S-ON system-Partition is not writable.

-Custom target can be set in preferences,for example to /data/etc/hosts
-Hosts file can be opened from menu
